Try this recipe to jazz up your morning grapefruit! The combination of tart grapefruit and hot pepper with fresh rosemary is an unexpected treat. Come on, put away that cereal bar and mix up your morning routine!

When choosing your grapefruit, consider the deep red variety. According to health.com, they have the higher levels of antioxidants. However, check with your doctor before indulging in grapefruit, as it does affect the potency of some prescription drugs.

Ingredients:
1 red or pink grapefruit
2 tsp. raw sugar
1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp chopped fresh rosemary

Directions:

  • Cur grapefruit in half
  • Using a small knife, cut along membranes to release grapefruit segments.
  • Dividing evenly, sprinkle grapefruits halves with sugar, red pepper flakes and crushed rosemary

  • Adjust the amounts of crushed red pepper and chopped rosemary to your liking
  • To get the fruit juices flowing, gently roll the grapefruit on the counter a few times, before cutting it in half.
