Farro is a grain with a nutty flavor similar to brown rice. In fact, it is often used as a substitute for pasta or rice. Unlike some other grains (quinoa, for example), farro is not gluten-free.
5 cups water
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup farro
1 cup skim mild
8 slices of banana
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup dried cranberries
1/4 cup honey
- Bring water and salt to a boil.
- Whisk in grains.
- Return to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low.
- Simmer, stirring often, for 35 to 40 minutes.
- Top with skim milk, banana, walnuts, cranberries, and honey.
- Serve immediately.
